Many companies use digital audio/video content on their corporate websites for informational, promotional, investor relations, and/or advertising purposes. For example, digital audio/video may be available via a company’s website to provide instruction on how to assemble or use a company’s product or to show a company's television commercials. Acacia’s DMT® patents cover the transmission and receipt of such non-live, digital audio/video content.

Before the digital audio/video content is made available to users via the company’s website, it is first digitized, compressed and stored for transmission. Once available, the user can select digital audio/video content via the company’s website for viewing and/or listening. The selected digital audio/video content is transmitted via the Internet for receipt on the user’s computer in either a downloadable or streaming format. This process is covered by Acacia’s DMT® patents.

Our standard Corporate Website License Agreement covers corporate websites that offer streams and/or downloads (i.e., transmissions) of digital audio/video content free of charge primarily for informational, promotional, investor relations, and/or advertising purposes. The use of digital audio/video content in connection with the sale of products or services via a website is not covered by our standard Corporate Website License Agreement. Please contact Acacia if you engage in these activities. To review a copy of our standard Corporate Website License Agreement, please click here (provided in .pdf format).
